Rewriting a script. Last minute edits. And the click-click of furious typing is all a part of the Studio One Headline News Team’s Thursday afternoon routine. The Headline News meets before the live show. They research various national and international stories to lead off the newscast. The team receives video provided to us by CNN, writes scripts, and edits the latest news stories.

Laura McCallumis the Deputy News Director at Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). She has worked for this regional radio network which incorporates 38 different stations, since 1993. She says gaining experience while in college is a crucial part of becoming a journalist.
